Social media have some categories.you can look at this power point some catagories from social network.

1.      Publish is social media like as notification but this is in social media,generally like as  news,article, a informations and other.For example you can look some sites there are Wikipedia,Blog,Wordpress and etc.

2.      Share is social media that  can we use to share some files like as maybe pictures,video and other.For example in youtube sites,flickr sites,slide share etc.

3.      Discuss isn social media that can we use to a group of people to do chat and discussion.For example in some sites like as yahoo,skype,google talk,phorum etc.

4.      Social network is social media to socialiszation and interaction with people or group.This is very famous now,not only teenagers know but every people also know and have account in social network.For example there are so many sites in social network like as my space,linkedin,hi5 that very famous is facebook.

5.      Microbloq almost same with social network but have difference,the difference is microbloq only can write status or informations just little and generally less from 200 characters and there are also limits in updates status or informations,so you can’t status updates ad infinitium,but in social network you can write status or information more and ad infinitium.For example twitter,plurk,xplazes etc.

6.      Lifestream is social media that can be show daily activity of people use with videos,pictures,voice transcription with live via your account in some sites like as socialthing!,friendfeed etc.

7.      Livecast is sosial media like as television in online.so,if you want to watch concert or television but you don’t have television or radio you can watch or listen live via streaming in internet,this is all channel and all program in the world you can choice channel or program in the world what do you want?...For example like as this sites usstream.tv,justintv,yahoolive etc.

8.      Virtual worlds is social media usually for girl’s like this sites.because virtual worlds like as avatar world.so,we can make account with avatars and meet with many people in the world with use that avatars.like as chat but this is use avatars.For example in sites imvu,barbie girls,stardoll etc.

9.       Social games is social media with facilities online game but not the biggest online game because this games like as personal games,the biggest online game is MMO.For example sites with social games like as  pogo,doof,sgn,three rings etc.

10.  MMO(Massively multiplayer online) is social media like as online games that use be many players in this games.A thousand players from other country play together in this came via internet.For example some sites with online games are neopets,world warcraft,driftcity etc.
